You have to actually skin it onto your gear just liek BCM skin but you can then reuse those pieces of gear to skin onto your next set. If you look on the trade broker you'll see cheap, low level white gear that costs millions of kinah to buy. It's because those are reusable drop gear pieces skinned onto junk that you can buy and reuse over and over.
